Hubby Tag Part Two

I saw this on Valynn's blog and thought I might do it too. I love these, you just never know what you will learn about other people!

What is his name? Lee Roger Johnson

How long have you been married? 20 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

How old is he? 42 years.

Who eats more? Definitely, him. He is usually finished before I am even half way there.

Who said I love you first? I did. We were sitting together in one of his classes at ASU.

Who is taller? He is, but you can't say that I don't try to be. What with my 4 inch heels and all.

Who sings better? I think I do, however, he has the best bass voice. Think Barry White.

Who is smarter? I think I am more "street smart", Lee is definitely "book smart".

Whose temper is worse? It used to be me, until these cute little pills. Now? I would have to say him.
Who does the laundry? Me, I have forbidden him to ever touch my laundry. He will put whites and dark together. An atrocity!
Who does the dishes? Me, I am a very proficient dishwasher loader.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? How do you really answer this question? I mean which is the "right" side? Which way are we looking at the bed?
Who cooks dinner? I do. If he did, we would have burritos every night.

Who drives? His truck, he does. My car, I prefer to. I get antsy about the way he shifts in my car. He stays in lower gears too long, and I think that uses up more gas because it causes the engine to rev higher. Car 101, thank you very much!
Who is more stubborn? Definitely him.

Who is first to admit they are wrong? I believe this question is in direct correlation with the stubbornness issue. If I'm right, why would I admit I am wrong! Dr. Phil calls those "right fighters".
Whose parents do you see the most? His.

Who has more friends? I think this one is a draw. I think I have more friends. He is more likely to recall each and every co-worker he has ever had and we run into them everywhere.
Who has more siblings? We are both the oldest of 5 children. Could be where the mutual stubbornness took its root. We are both used to being "the boss".
Who wears the pants? I try to, but occasionally I like to wear a skirt so that I can feel more girly! He won't wear a skirt.:)

Oh, bother......

It was a weekend like any other. Of course, most people in the Western world are not without water for the whole weekend, but, sadly, we were. Never have a leaky pipe on a Friday night. No one will care until Monday morning. So the plumber finally made it out to our home today, you know the old, "I'll be there sometime between 10:00am and 2:00pm" scenario. We had been contemplating whether we would renew our home warranty, which expires this Thursday.

This you may not know. If you even so much as attempt to try and fix it yourself, the home warranty people say they will not cover it! So, I'm on the phone with the guy from the home warranty place, and he asks me if I have any questions. Me, being overly vexed at this point, says, "What would you like me to ask you?" Yeah, rude I know. Anyway, now instead of the $50.00 call out fee I would have paid, has turned into a $275.00 job!

So, in that I was desperate to wash laundry and dishes, I agreed. Now I'm a little terrified of being alone in my home with a strange man. Fortunately though, I did not have to deal with this:

I must apologize if this is offensive to anyone. I was not quite as lucky. All I had to do was drive down to Hawes and Southern where some workers were digging to install the new street light that will be going in. Brittany and I almost tossed it. DISGUSTING! Pull up your pants fellas! So not attractive.

It's just been that kind of day.

Oh, bother!

Bueller...........Bueller...........

So, the HOA annual meeting was on Monday evening. Are you sitting down? Out of 171 homeowners in our community only 22 bothered to cast their ballots. Which means, obviously, not a majority vote. What does that mean for me? I have to wait until a board meeting happens, and hopefully there will be a quorum present, then I can be "appointed" to the board. What an apathetic society we live in. Where is the love people? It just made me think of another funny movie from my youth.

This is fun!

In the spirit of "Thievery Thursday", I stole this idea from someone else's blog. The rule is you can't use your own pictures, they must come from "The Web".

Wasn't that fantastical fun? I haven't blogged in a while since I was sick this weekend. It was a great weekend not to feel well since General Conference was on TV. What a great conference. I could definitely see in President Monson the weight of the mantle he now carries.

If elected, I promise.....

I'm on the ballot! I have decided to run for a seat on our homeowner association board. Since we moved into a home with an HOA, I have made it a point to attend the meetings. Having worked for a company that manages HOA's for so long, and hearing the complaints of so many homeowners over the years, I've decided to be part of the solution rather than the problem.
I have a dream......uh, actually I decided to run due to the fact that our current board seems unable to be bothered to attend the meetings themselves. In fact, a gal who is also running stated that her qualifications for serving our community was that, and I quote, "at least I will show up to the meetings unlike our current board." How sad that merely attending a meeting is the qualifier.
If elected, I promise that we will have better lunches and longer recesses.
Happy April Fool's Day and Happy Birthday to my father-in-law, Roger L Johnson. He's no April Fool!

Monday, Monday

Okay, turn your head to the right. Yep, my shelves fell down! Celeste, this one's for you! I heard a loud crash in the middle of the night. Of course, me being way too exhausted to get up and investigate, I told myself I'd check on it in the morning. I had the semi-conscious thought that if it were a burglar, Berkeley was welcome to eat him.
So this is what I found. Lucky me! A trip to Home Depot! I love wandering around in there looking for nothing in particular, and collecting ideas for my home. I found the metal shelf supports, the ones that broke were plastic. I escaped Home Depot having spent only $5.oo.
I went home and took everything out and then back in again. Fun, Fun.
I got my visiting teaching done this morning. I was feeling really good about myself for doing so. Yes, I know it is the last day of the month, but I did it right? Anyway, I had a ton of work to do for my paying job and some errands to run. I ran my errands and was ready to leave my last stop, when lo and behold, I can't locate my keys. I frantically run out to my car knowing exactly what I would find. Yep, there they are sitting on the front seat! Stupid, stupid, stupid! I don't have time for this today!
Brittany has our other vehicle and is on her way to EVIT. My husband is at home with his keys and no way to get to me. Long story short, thank you Lisa Perry for driving my husband to rescue me. I finally get home and the first thing I do, drop a can on my big toe! So I'm blubbering like a big baby, it really hurt! I hear that sucking sound again! It's still not the vacuum.

Silence is Golden

Did you notice how quiet it was when you viewed my blog today? Some have expressed displeasure with my eclectic musical taste. I chose to delete it because I forgot my password to add new songs and the darn folks at Project Playlist would not, could not respond to my request. After some of the songs had been there, they would get an error message and not play so I decided to do away with the whole mess.

I'm trying to use some new tools to make my blog more interesting, but apparently I don't know how to do it right or I'm just dense at following step by step instructions. I wanted to have some cute "Shabby Chic" paper and embellishments. My techno savvy has been exposed. "Don't pay attention to the woman behind the curtain, the Great and Powerful Oz has spoken!"

Does anyone have any hope of help for me?
