Oh, bother......

It was a weekend like any other. Of course, most people in the Western world are not without water for the whole weekend, but, sadly, we were. Never have a leaky pipe on a Friday night. No one will care until Monday morning. So the plumber finally made it out to our home today, you know the old, "I'll be there sometime between 10:00am and 2:00pm" scenario. We had been contemplating whether we would renew our home warranty, which expires this Thursday.

This you may not know. If you even so much as attempt to try and fix it yourself, the home warranty people say they will not cover it! So, I'm on the phone with the guy from the home warranty place, and he asks me if I have any questions. Me, being overly vexed at this point, says, "What would you like me to ask you?" Yeah, rude I know. Anyway, now instead of the $50.00 call out fee I would have paid, has turned into a $275.00 job!

So, in that I was desperate to wash laundry and dishes, I agreed. Now I'm a little terrified of being alone in my home with a strange man. Fortunately though, I did not have to deal with this:

I must apologize if this is offensive to anyone. I was not quite as lucky. All I had to do was drive down to Hawes and Southern where some workers were digging to install the new street light that will be going in. Brittany and I almost tossed it. DISGUSTING! Pull up your pants fellas! So not attractive.

It's just been that kind of day.

Oh, bother!

Don't you just love how long that they make you just sit and wait for someone to come to your house? Glad you have water again. How frustrating. I guess its better now then when its a million degrees outside which is going to be THIS WEEKEND. Hey I'm impressed with the water pump comment. I am not sure if Phil thought of that but that's what his dad told him yesterday. Next time we will call you. See ya tonight.

I have many friends that work construction and do plumbing and I think they are wonderful people socially, but I truely have unhealthy negative feelings about them professionally. Why does it always cost so much and why doesn't anything get fixed in a timely manner, and you can never trust the quality of work, my list goes on... sorry for the ranting.

I am sorry for the weekend that you had to deal with. Call me next time and I'll share info with you... I have a great plumber and he charge hardly anything AND they are always on time if not even a little early! I also have a great electrician if you ever need one. Thanks for the Plumber Butt view, needed that...
P.S. I love the fact that you stole the idea of "Thievery Thursday" from Melissa. Somehow, that validates the need for it!!!!

That is no fun! Sorry you didn't have any water. You can always come over and use ours if you need to. There's no plumber bums over here, well except maybe some of my kids.

What a bummer! I hope the week has gotten better than it started out. I love being able to catch up on your family now that I've joined in the blogging fun. We miss you guys in our ward.
PS. Jennifer recently got divorced, but she's doing great. She's totally amazing! Thanks for remembering her.

We've been dealing with a home warranty ourselves over this past month. The air conditioner on the house in Tempe went out. It has been the biggest pain going back and forth between the home warranty company and the contractor. To make a long story short, after several visits of cleaning the unit and trying to fix things, they finally agreed to cover the cost of replacing it. I've been wondering if home warranties are worth it, but in this case it did help us. I'm not sure if we will renew!

Sorry to here that you had to go without water. You don't realize how much water is used until you don't have it!
