I'm on the ballot! I have decided to run for a seat on our homeowner association board. Since we moved into a home with an HOA, I have made it a point to attend the meetings. Having worked for a company that manages HOA's for so long, and hearing the complaints of so many homeowners over the years, I've decided to be part of the solution rather than the problem.I have a dream......uh, actually I decided to run due to the fact that our current board seems unable to be bothered to attend the meetings themselves. In fact, a gal who is also running stated that her qualifications for serving our community was that, and I quote, "at least I will show up to the meetings unlike our current board." How sad that merely attending a meeting is the qualifier.
If elected, I promise that we will have better lunches and longer recesses.

Wow, I never knew you were such an activist. Do you get anything if you serve on the board, like a reduced HOA fee or something. Or does it just mean that all the stuff the HOA is suppose to do gets done at your house first?
